Way to long for an update.

 Bethanne is now 14 years old.  Not much has changed since the last time I wrote. She is in 8th grade. She is always smiling. We go to her cardiologist every year. She still has her INR checked every 4 weeks. 3 years ago she was diagnosed with type 2 diabeties.  She got flown to Syracuse from potsdam because of this. That was a scary time. She takes metformin for that and seems to be doing well. We see the pediatric endicrinologist for that every year.  We go in June for a check up on her kidney. Hopefully that goes well. There is nothing they can do for her scoliosis but it is more predominanent now.  She also got COVID Christmas Break 2022. She did very well.. I added some pics from the last few years in collage form.

Its been a while since I updated. Bethanne just started 4th grade. She is 10. She had an amplatzer occluder placed in the hole in her heart in August 2017. She did well.

So far everything is going well. they are watching her weight as it could effect her heart.

August 2016 to January 2018

Bethanne has been doing well since her 3rd open heart surgery. She finished first grade and is now in 2nd.  In August 2017 she had a plug placed in her heart as she had a hole. She is doing well from that also. She is growing fast. She really likes a boy in her class. He has been her BFF since kindergarten. She loves JoJo Siwa, WWE wrestling, Ed Sheeran and tacos. She has lots of energy. She is a good girl always with a smile.

october 2015 to 7/20/2016

It has been a while since I updated. Bethanne is doing great.. we are 14 months post Fontan.  She graduated kindergarten in June.. She will be going into the first grade in Sept.. She has done lots since her surgery.. She can now ride a bike.  We have to watch her bleeding as she is on warfarin. She bruises real easy. But she is being a little kid. she runs, plays and has a great time. These are just a few pictures since Oct. 2015.  In no order..

Oct. 2015

Bethanne is in her 2nd year of kindergarten.  She is doing amazing.. She saw her cardiologist in sept. He said she is doing remarkable.. She has to have blood work every month now instead of every week to check her INR levels because of being on warfarin (coumadin). She hates the blood work. I am so proud of her..

2014-2015

On May 7th 2015. Bethanne underwent her 3rd open heart surgery.(the fontan). She did extremely well.. they put the wires in just in case she needs a pace maker.. there are no more surgeries to fix her.. The next if she ever needs one will be a  transplant. I hope we never come to that..

On March 6, 2015 bethanne went into the operating room at university hospital for dental surgery. She had 9 teeth pulled. We are now ready for her Fontan (3rd open heart surgery) on April 8,2015.

2014-2015

After her stent placement everything has been going okay with bethanne.. she started kindergarten in september 2014. She got student of the Month in Oct. 2014.  She got her make a wish. She got a new playground in Nov. 2014.

We see Dr. Smith on feb. 13,2015. she is having her 3rd open heart surgery (fontan) on April 8,2015.
